I Did a Thing…and it’s Major!

I’ve always been a writer. Ever since I could hold a pencil in my tiny hands, I was scribbling down poems, crafting little songs, spinning short stories from my imagination. Over the years, that love of storytelling has evolved into scripts, memoirs, and YA novels. Writing has always been my thing. It’s my joy, my therapy, and one of my purposes.

But here's the thing: I’ve started a lot of projects over the years and finished none….until now.

This year lit a fire in me and kicked my butt into gear. Maybe it’s the reminder that time waits for no one or the realization that I don’t want to one day leave this world with stories untold and dreams unlived. I don’t want to go out with a fire still burning inside me because I never gave myself a fair shot.

I buckled down, tuned out the noise, turned up the ambition, and wrote my first full-length book. Yes, I completed my first book!

I know there are rewrites ahead, revisions, edits, feedback, and the entire process to even get published. But my story exists. It’s fully typed, start to finish, in black and white. That alone is something to celebrate.

I did that. I really did that. On my own.

This moment is proof to myself that I can see something through. That my dreams aren’t too big, and that I’m not too late. Ambition, discipline, and heart can truly make magic.

So, what’s next for me?

1.     Querying literary agents.

2.     Working on my next book—a YA novel that I’m currently 40% into.

3.     Goal: Finish the first draft by the end of summer.

I’m in full creative mode, and whenever that happens, you can’t just sit on it.

If you’re a writer, a dreamer, or a creative soul, I see you. Have you started something? Finished something? Published a book or written a poem that never saw the light of day? I want to hear from you! Let's connect, share our journeys, lift each other up, and celebrate every step.

If you’re not already, follow me on any of my social media accounts and let me know your journey.

Dreaming is just the first step; doing is where the magic lives.
